The story of every transplant recipient is the story of an organ & tissue donor. The story of a donor’s family and the story of a recipient often come together to create a brand new story of hope, healing and connection. Listen to all these stories, the real stories of organ and tissue donation, from the people who have lived them. Let’s Talk Hope is the podcast that brings you inside the organ & tissue donation experience.
In my 13 years working at Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network, I’ve been honored to help many families make the powerful decision to donate their loved ones’ tissue and organs.
In the Let’s Talk Hope podcast, I talk with the families of donors about their experience and resilience in changing their tragic circumstance into a triumph, with people from all walks of life in need of a life-saving transplant. I talk with public and community leaders and medical professionals —all with a critical role in increasing donation and medical transplants and avoiding deaths that could have been prevented.
The work I do at Gift of Hope is part of who I am. I suffered the unexpected loss of my husband, Reggie, and the experience with donation upon his passing has given me uncommon perspective on the decision to donate.
I am passionate about empowering women, communities of color and underserved communities, by doing what I can to help them to be heard, respected and recognized for the contributions they make to society. This too is a critical part of my work at Gift of Hope. Find out more about me, our organization and organ, eye and tissue donation at www.giftofhope.org.
I hope our podcast inspires you to get educated about donation and register your decision to be a donor. Start the conversation today and talk to your family and encourage everyone you know to donate life.
